The Student-Athlete Leadership Training program at Prescott High School was designed to develop the leadership skills of our student-athletes and is facilitated by Prescott High School administrators and coaches. Annually, student athletes are nominated by their respective head coaches and chosen based on multi-sport participation, GPA, outstanding character and overall leadership qualities.
The framework of the Positive Coaching Alliance: Triple-Impact Competitor program which emphasizes impacting sport on three levels by working to improve oneself, teammates and the game as a whole, is used as our principles of study each year. Discussion topics, breakout sessions, and guest speakers are used throughout the school year as we work to facilitate our student athletes to be equipped with the information and inspiration necessary to lead in our school hallways, set examples throughout the community that will generate pride, and support our school’s athletics program.
As a member of S.A.L.T. at PHS our student athletes are asked to represent the school at different functions, meet on a quarterly basis with PHS administrators, attend leadership training workshops, lead their respective programs, serve PUSD and our community and assist the athletic department in implementing policies and procedures for all student athletes as needed.
