2019 Boys Basketball Schedules and Camp

Attached are the dates for this summer’s activities. The only additions moving forward will be some scrimmages locally at Chino Valley High School for the younger group.

5/28 – 5/31
Prescott Cager Camp
Youth Session (Ages 8-12)
9am-11am
Badger Session (Ages 13-18)
12:30pm – 2:30pm
We will have a youth parent meeting the first morning of to discuss the week. I’d also like the Badger session parents to attend a 5-10 min meeting the first day as well to discuss expectations, schedule, and developments for the week.

FOR CAMP PLEASE KEEP IN MIND:

  • ON TUESDAY THE AFTERNOON SESSION WILL BE CONDUCTED IN THE BACK GYM.

  • ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY WE WILL BE AT MILE HIGH FOR BOTH SESSIONS

For summer tournaments, the teams are labelled Varsity and JV/F for tournament purposes only. This does not mean a player is specifically on the varsity, JV, or freshman teams for the upcoming season. The summer is sole for the purposes of development and exposure. We as coaches are learning and developing as much as the players are, so this time is important for us to learn things about our potential players, skill-wise, situationally, emotionally, team developmentally, etc). We will offer no preconceived notions as coaches and expect the same from our potential players. We will do our best to give as much opportunity to the kids as possible all while fielding competitive teams in the process.
5/31 – 6/1  (V & JV/F) ($25/Player)

ERAU  (Varsity and JV/Frosh)

6/7 – 6/8  (V & JV/F) ($40/Player)
Arizona Christian University  (Games at Scottsdale Christian, Paradise Valley Christian Prep, and ACU)
(Schedule is Varsity only so far. JV/Frosh Tourney still looking for 3 more teams)
6/13 – 6/15 (Varsity Only) ($40/Player)
Summer 64 (Games at Sunrise Mountain High School then Subject to Change)
6/14 – 6/15 (JV/F Only) ($40/Player)
Summer Shootout (Games at Campo Verde High School)
(No schedule yet but list of teams attached)

6/21 – 6/22 (One Team TBD) ($40/Player)
Beat the Heat (Games at Flagstaff High School)
(Schedule has yet to be developed)
For accommodations out of town, we will be renting VRBO houses. We are really doubling down on team building and creating a program foundation that will last a very long time. I’m a huge proponent of he who breaks bread together says together. Being in the same house as a program and not sequestrated to hotel rooms will stimulate this idea.
Also, during tournaments and moving forward, you will hear us refer to our “Non-Negotiables”. These are 4 items (both basketball strategy and player reaction related) that we will not allow during games, practice or in public. If they happen, there will be some form of consequence.
  • Accountability and Timeliness
    • Arrive in enough time to be ready to go 10 minutes early
  • No Conversations With or Reactions to Officials
  • No Baseline Defensively
  • No Hero/Iso Offense
We as a coaching staff will do our best to communicate with the player at the beginning of the week as to which team he will be playing on. The seats on the bus is limited so we are limited to a certain number on each team as well. We will utilize our TEAMS Group Chat App for all correspondence.
