What a fantastic couple days for the boys golf team at the AIA Division II State Championship for: Carter Libis, Nick Ruher, Chance Hill, Cade Buettner, Brent Chambers and Beniam Osterloh.
The boys golf team started out day 1 at the Omni Tucson Golf Resort with a rough day and dropping to number 11. Chance Hill lead the team with a solid 80, Carter Libis posted an 82, Nick finishing with an 88, Brent Chambers shot a 92 and Cade Buettner 96.
Day 2 turned out to be a new day and the boys rallied to move up and finish number 8, just what they wanted to do and posted a team score of +25 from the previous days +50. Carter Libis posted the lowest score of the day from all 75 players and leading the team to a 3 under par 70. That was good enough for him to take 11th place individually out of 75 players in the State Championship Match. Chance Hill finished the day with another 80 finishing 32, Nick took 6 strokes off from his Monday posting with an 82 putting him at 52nd. Brent Chambers finished with a 99 (which wasn’t counted in the teams final score) and Beniam Osterloh played his last match of the season with an 85.
The boys had a truly special season. They took home the first place plaque for their section and the 8th place finish at state was the highest finish for a Badgers golf team since 1998. Great job and way to Rep boys.
