The Prescott Boys Golf team finished their regular season playing the “John Uidenich Memorial Invitational” in Cottonwood today.
In order to maintain their 10th place ranking, and qualify for the state tournament, the boys had to play their front nine well.
Chance Hill was the first player to finish the front nine with a solid 38. Carter Libis was the second player to come in and recorded a school record 5 under par 31. Nick Ruhrer followed with a 41, Cade Buettner shot a 40 while Beniam Osterlohs 42 rounded out the scoring. The team score of 150 was the best score of the season and secured a berth to state!
The boys ended the invitational in third place behind Division 1 powerhouses Horizon and Liberty. Their total score of 308 is the best 18 hole match from a Prescott team in over 20 years.
Carter Libis took medalist honors with a phenomenal 66. Chance Hill shot a 76, Nick Ruhrer 82, Cade Buettner 84, Beniam Osterloh 87.
The boys will be representing PHS at the AIA Division 2 State Championship October 28th and 29th.
